Make Much of the Blood

I’ve recently been teaching a series entitled, “Perfectly Safe” and this is what we’ve been learning here at LWRV.   We all know this world is a dangerous place to live.  The Bible teaches us that Satan is the god of this world and because he is, we live in constant threat of attacks.  He is at work everyday to try and stop God’s Word from coming to pass. Without the protection of God we will not be able to  finish what He has called us to do here.

There is perhaps nothing more important and vital to our protection than developing an unshakable confidence and a full persuasion in the power of the Blood of Jesus to protect us in these perilous times. And yet many Christians don’t even know  how to use the Blood or that they even can or should!  Ephesians chapter 2 tells us that because of the blood of Jesus we are no longer strangers but have been welcomed into the household of God.  Our children are both married now but when they come over they know our home is their home.  They don’t knock on the door or timidly wait outside waiting for the invitation to come in.  No!  On the contrary, they come boldly through the door and right over to the refrigerator and help themselves!  They know where everything is and they know that they are family and family has rights and privileges that strangers don’t have.

Jesus made His blood available to us TO USE.  And as members of His household we have every right to!  Thank God that through the blood of Jesus we have been born again but that isn’t all the blood of Jesus has provided for us.  We are to use His blood to come boldly before the Father AND we have every right to apply the Blood of Jesus over our lives and live protected, secure and long lives.  In Exodus we find that God instructed Moses to have the children of Israel apply the blood of spotless lambs over the doors and windows of their homes so that the effects of sin and death would not destroy them.  They were to come under the blood and stay there.  All of those who applied the blood and stayed under the blood were supernaturally protected.  They also came out of bondage without sickness or weakness and with the wealth of Egypt!

It is no different for us today.  When we apply the Blood of Jesus by faith over our lives, our families, our children, our finances, etc. we enter into that place of protection from the enemies of lack, sickness, depression, fear, rebellion, destruction and divorce.  You cannot apply the blood without speaking.  We apply the blood by faith through our words. I encourage you, make much of the blood!

This world is full of danger but for the Christian who knows who they are in Christ and by faith will apply the blood of Jesus, there remains a place of Perfect Safety in Him.
